Cefn Cribwr II 14 – 22 Maesteg Quins II

MGDRU Barry Morris Plate Final

It was a tight tussle for the Barry Morris Plate that would have pleased the great rugby man who did so much for Mid-Glamorgan District rugby himself.

Quins wing Ross Thomas opened the scoring with a try that Siôn King converted.

Cefn Cribwr were under the cosh throughout with the Quins dominating possession and territory, but the Riders defence was magnificent keeping them in the game with a ‘puncher’s chance’.

Punch they did with a converted try to level the scores.

Nathan Williams scored a second Quins try, but Cefn Cribwr took the lead with their second converted try.

A King penalty allowed the Quins to regain the lead and it was fitting for the indisputable Man-of-the- Match Aled Evans to seal the result with a try converted by King.
