Jamaica Innternational Prop Eubank-Anderson Joins the Quins

Maesteg Harlequins RFC are delighted to announce the signing of Akeen Eubank-Anderson.

A powerful front-rower, Akeem has been a part of some quite illustrious academy and university rugby teams. Go getting English Championship club Ealing Trailfinders Academy, the renowned Wasps Academy and Welsh rugby’s premier university team Cardiff Metropolitan, have all played major parts in Eubank-Anderson’s rugby development.

Such are Akeem’s credentials he has played representative rugby for English Counties Under-23s. Alerted to the prop’s talent, Akeem appeared on the Jamaican Rugby Union’s radar. Impressively he gained Under 23s selection for the Caribbean island nation.

Two former Quins players Rhys Roberts and Tyrone Hughes have been familiar with Akeem for some time. Rhys as a coach at Cardiff Met has spoken highly of the front rower in terms of his scrummaging and loose play. However, it is highly likely Tyrone had a huge say in Akeem’s decision to venture to South Parade, as Hughes' daughter is Akeem’s girlfriend!

Everyone at Maesteg Harlequins cannot wait to see Eubank-Anderson take to the field.

Croeso cynnes i chi Akeem. You will have a great time at Maesteg and will enjoy your South Parade experience.
