INCOMING PLAYERS

Returnees to South Parade this season include Dan Tabor from Nantyffyllon, Ryan Lovett and Ross Powell from Maesteg Celtic, along with Kieran Griffiths from Neath. South Paraders look forward to seeing you back in action. Croeso yn ôl pawb.

The ‘front-row stork’ seemed to be working overtime in June. He didn’t just deliver Dan Tabor but Tom Evans and Ethan Longley also.

Generally a loose-head, but comfortable across the front-row spectrum, Tom has joined from Maesteg Celtic. The former Under 20s Scarlet starlet played in the final game of the season against Tata, after driving all the way from London to play. Evans put in a fine performance and the Quins hope for more of the same in future seasons.

Ethan has represented the Ospreys at Under 16s and 18s level. A very strong ball carrying threat, Ethan has come through the ranks of and joined our club from Bryncethin. His set piece work is also well ahead of schedule.

At six foot six inches, second row Ryan Morgan is a perfect acquisition to the second row department. The fit as a flea product of Bridgend College’s Rugby Academy, Morgan joins from Cardiff Metropolitan as he returns home to Maesteg. The coaches are excited to be working with such a keen and capable prospect.

Matthew Harris is predominantly an outside-half, but such is his talent, he is able to play across the back-line. Plus he is a prolific goal-kicker.

Harris has represented the Quins on a couple of sporadic occasions nine years ago and joins from Maesteg Celtic. The Garth Park followers have been keen to point out the Celtic’s pack were an ominous force while their backs were not as well equipped. Yet out-half Harris picked up Celtic’s Player-of-the-Year award at the end of the 2018-2019 season.  He will undoubtedly be an asset.
